Get here around 8:30 to hang out. Music starts at 9. We’ll be doing this every Wednesday. Address is below.
Ok all you Columbus songwriters and music lovers. Maybe you’ve written hundreds of songs and played for thousands of fans. Maybe you’ve done the open mic thing. Or maybe you’ve never played in front of anyone but your bedroom walls. Doesn’t matter, still counts. Or, maybe you just want to listen.
To borrow/paraphrase from Texas songwriting legend, Kent Finlay:
This is a listening night. Every song you hear will be an original song, performed by the person who wrote it. You won’t have to listen to any drum machines or pre-recorded tracks. And the price you pay for getting to listen to all the wonderful songs you’re going to hear, is that we’ll ask you to play some too. But, by all means, even if you’re not a songwriter– even if you just love to listen– come on out.
The Columbus Songwriter Circle is a place to play that song you’ve just finished. Or the one you’re still working on. Or the one you wrote ages ago.
RULES:
- Respect the person performing-- don’t talk.
