COLUMBUS CELEBRATES LATE LOCAL HERO AND LAUNCHES SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS MAY 6TH
Short North staple Rowe Boutique and local start-up Candle
with a Cause are holding an exclusive event the evening of
May 6th to celebrate the life of Jack Roth and the launch of
Candle with a Cause to the public. The event, “Jack Roth
Rock – N – Run: Illuminated†will raise funds for the 6th
annual Jack Roth Rock – N – Run 5K which will be held in
Bexley, Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 and will be started by
honorary chairman, Ohio State President, E. Gordon Gee. To

Jack Roth, a long time resident of Bexley, was diagnosed
with lung cancer in March, 2004. After waging a valiant
nine-month battle against the disease, he lost his fight on
December 17th, 2004, at the age of 57.
The Jack Roth Rock – N – Run, dedicated to Jack’s spirit,
passions, and ideals, was established in 2006 to benefit the
Jack Roth Fund, which raises funds to support cancer
research at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard
Solove Research Center at The Ohio State University and Camp
Netaim, a camp for children with special needs in Israel.
Candle with a Cause was founded in 2010 by four friends who
care about the community. 25% of proceeds from each candle
are donated to a rotating cause throughout the year, and the
company handcrafts each candle from recycled wine bottles
and soy wax sourced from Ohio. The Jack Roth Fund is the
third partner of Candle with a Cause

The Jack Roth Rock – N – Run: Illuminated will be held on
Friday, May 6th, from 8pm-11pm at 1127 N. High St. in the
Short North and will feature DJ sets by Cornelius Jackson
and Bruni, food catered by Barrio/Due Amici and
Commonwealth, a silent auction featuring a Short North
Fitness Athletic Package, and the first ever Rock – N – Run
Spring Sage candle by Candle with a Cause. Tickets are
available for $10 at Rowe Boutique before the event and $15
at the door.
