Craziest part to me was that the homeless man went to Stuyvesant for high school. Just goes to show you, no matter the upbringing, you never know how your kids will turn out.

A young man was murdered recently — possibly for the narcissistic pleasure of a very sick person, who recorded the crime, posted the video on the Internet, then mailed his victim's left foot to the Conservative Party of Canada's headquarters in Ottawa and left hand to the Liberal Party of Canada.
Takes attention whoring to a whole new level.

Police: Hackensack man stabbed himself and threw intestines at officers
A man who stabbed himself repeatedly in front of police — and then threw his skin and intestines at them — remains in critical condition Tuesday morning, police said.
Police said they got a call at 10 p.m. Sunday from someone saying Wayne Carter, 43, had a knife and was threatening to hurt himself.

A doctor was arrested this week on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after he nearly sideswiped a Florida Highway Patrol captain's car, banged his head on the inside of a patrol car and spat blood into a sergeant's face, a report shows.

Late Tuesday night Antony Kinyua notified police that his son had found human remains in the basement of the house. Upon their arrival, Jarrod Kinyua (the brain eater's brother) told police he found a human head and two human hands inside metal tins, under a blanket in the laundry room.
When he asked Alexander Kinyua (the brain eater) about the remains, Jarrod said his brother denied that they were human and said they were animal remains. After calling his father downstairs, the pair discovered the remains had been moved and Alexander Kinyua was washing out the metal tins.
When the police arrived they were able to locate the heads and hands in the house. They also interviewed Alexander Kinyua, who allegedly admitted that he had killed Agyei-Kodie by cutting him up with a knife and afterward, ingested his heart and portions of his brain.

Woman killed infant, ate part of his brains.
SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police say a woman accused of beheading her 3-week-old infant son used a knife and two swords in the attack and ate some of the child's body parts.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus told reporters Monday that Otty Sanchez's attack on her son, Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez, was "too heinous" to fully discuss.

I realize there's good gallows humor here.... But there's this too...
Yesterday in Seattle (where I live) a man walked into a cafe and shot five people—not people I knew personally, but people I'd met, friends of friends. Then he drove to a different neighborhood and shot another woman, a mother of two. Then he shot himself. According to his family, the man had a concealed weapons permit and a history of mental illness. They felt that he was dangerous, but there was nothing they could do. Now everybody is dead. Jonathan Golob wrote in my hometown newspaper:
"In place of (costly and arguably inhumane) warehousing of the mentally ill, the plan for decades in Washington state has been to provide aggressive outpatient case management. Psychosis, bipolar disease, depression, anxiety and others are all treatable diseases. The notion—and it's not a bad idea at its core—is to use an army of social workers (state employees) to keep mentally ill people in the community engaged with treatment and the community safe.
Over the same decades, our investment in social services has dwindled. Right-wing propagandists like the Seattle Times's editorial board, Tim Eyman, and everyone you know who has uttered the phrase 'a more efficient state government' are directly responsible for our social service network being gutted, the many safety nets being left tattered and unmanned.
The reign of radical right wing financial policy in Washington State has left (the richest of) us with some of the lowest tax burdens of any community in the United States. The cost is a day like today."

A Canada-wide alert will be issued Friday warning of a drug still legal in Canada in the wake of a disturbing attack where a man chewed the flesh off another man’s face in Miami.“This is the first of the alerts that we’ll be putting out,” Dr. Matthew Young, researcher with the Canadian Centre for Substance Abuse, told The Province exclusively on Thursday.
The designer drug, dubbed “bath salts”, has appeared in Eastern Canada but has not yet shown up in B.C.
In Miami on Saturday, Rudy Eugene — who was feared to be high on bath salts — chewed the flesh off a homeless man’s face before he was shot to death by police.
