That last point would be interesting to know, but it certainly makes sense to me. If a truck is going to be going to a given Wal-Mart anyway, throwing one more item on board has to be greener than making a special trip. However, then you have to make a trip to the Wal-Mart to pick it up, so your own vehicle is burning gas. On the flip side, if that trip was also going to happen anyway, then the whole operation is basically carbon-neutral by definition.
