The following are 10 reasons why globalism and free trade are really bad for middle class Americans.... Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and Target - are sending the country overseas - Folks, stop the BS and get involved - This is real and this is our country....and will impact all of us!

Yep, giving a huge tax incentive to move operations offshore has a lot more to do with this than people wanting (or more importantly, needing) to buy inexpensive goods.
BTW, if its "all about the jobs", then I would think you'd take into account the over 1 million of them provided in the US by Wal-Mart.

Last time I quoted Michael Pollan, I think I pissed off V&P, but M.P. said that Henry Ford (no saint) insisted on paying his employees enough to be able to afford his product. Wallmart pays their employees so little, that they have no choice, but to buy their products.

Unfortunately - not all jobs are not created equal - as an Afghan goat shepard will tell you in Afghanistan verus a software engineer in San Fran - you may not like it but it is the truth - WalMart (the Waltons) and the people who love and shop there have done more to run down this country to save $1.00 on a t-shirt than most other folks (dareIsay in America) They have cut their own throats, their brothers, fathers, childrens and grand kids and don't even know it the ultimate fleecing of America and the middle class - and these are typically the free traders - TRUTH

nah, they did more damage by being stupid and electing people that act against their own best interests and failing to hold them accountable for their actions

Yes - they (The Chinese) can afford it - enjoy the ride - ye millenials, XXXers, - guaranteed until you do something and get off the blackberries, ipods, texting, ETC and get involved in sending a message (things ain't right in the U.S.A) you ain't gonna have much fun - and what you see now is what you get and will see in 25 years !!!

I'm not blaming the people who work at WalMart (most have few employment choices with the local hardware, general merchandise, small town bank and lumber yard gone and out of business) TRUTH!!!- but as my grandfather said there are people "who know the price of everything and the value of nothing" this is wisdom and most people in this country are of the former and not of the later...

And OBTW please stop buying your milk and bananas at WalMart or Walgreens - maybe Giant Eagle and Krogers will be the next company out of business and we can all enjoy $6.50/hour, no benefits, no holidays and Medicaid - these wages pay for a lot of medical and life comforts too - Clearly - this is a stepping stone on a career progression no where! (True)
