Finding a job on or near campus isn't hard at all, it is just a question of what type of work you want to do and how much you are expecting to get paid. What are you looking for in a job, both moneywise and the type of job as well? Looking for something semi-related to your major? What type of hours are you wanting to work?
When I started school I majored in computer and electrical engineering but ended up giving that up and working in the food service industry. I have no idea what really attracted me to this line of work but I do enjoy it a lot more than when I was doing DB design even though the money isn't nearly as good. I have been in various aspects of restaurant management for several years now and as part of that I get a lot of employees where it is their first job or atleast their first "real" job that they actually need to earn money from in order to pay their bills. I am a strong advocate in gaining experience in the field regardless of what you plan on doing with the rest of your life for the simple fact that you can learn a lot by working in a restaurant and it can be interesting. What little I have read of you posting I would have to say that Lisa is right, hostessing is probably more in your line of work but there are many things you can do.
If you are really in need of a job fast and your aren't picky about what you will be doing let me know and I can get you a job near campus. The starting pay is crap but there is definitely room for advancement.
