I've responded to so many posts on craigslist about employment, or gigs, and I haven't heard back from a single one of them. I'm talking about close to forty separate posts over the past six months. Is it just me? Has anybody else experienced this phenomenon?
Do people just post things on there as an psychological experiment? Because if that's what it's all about I'm game. I just want to be in on the joke.

hmmm....that's weird.
I've sold a few things on craigslist and actually got a job and several interviews through the site.
A lot of times you won't get responses or people will be kind of weird, but overall, i love it.
its definetely real :D

I sell stuff on Craigslist occasionally. I'm amazed at how fast and numerous the responses roll in. People there love to barter it's always fun to haggle. :)
I've only bought and sold stuff on Craigslist. No gigs, jobs, or sex with Chris. :lol:

Yeah, I've successfully bought and sold stuff. Found some great deals, my goodness. Old upright player piano for $75!
And, yeah, every time I've posted something for sale, I'm amazed at how quickly people will e-mail me with questions. Once, within ten minutes of posting it.

Bought a virtually brand new sisal area rug (9'X13') would have cost probably 500 bucks new...for 25 bucks on Craigslist.
Unfortunately, about a week later Bugsy ate charcoal from a big pile of nasty picnickers at the park and shit black stuff all over it...

I haven't done any job hunts through Craigslist, but a friend of mine has. I wasn't too sure about the idea of replying to ads on Craigslist, but the companies were legit (and local), and he received responses from the recruiters.

We sold a few things on CL with mixed amounts of success. Lots of people on there seem really quick to reply to say they want to buy something, but then never follow through with the transaction. Took quite a few tries for us to get rid of some things.
Was mostly annoying.

Yeah I've found that people on CL can be really flaky. eBay is probably more reliable for finding a buyer who will follow through on the sale.

I love craigslist. I've bought and sold. Shockingly good deals on the buying end and super fast buyers on the selling end. And all of the people I've met have been just great.
Note that if you post something for sale and don't get at least a few interested buyers almost immediately it's probably priced too high, try again a little lower in a day or so.
I have also looked for apartments. And I helped my mom fill an apartment she had for rent and the only place I posted it was craigslist, no yard sign even.
But I have never done the job or gig thing so can't chime in there.
