I mean it is Friday. It's nice outside, what's everyone up to this weekend?
I think some house chores are in order and maybe an offroad ride Sunday...pretty chill.

I was all ready to hit the racetrack with some friends this morning, only to find the track was reserved for shifter kart practice. So that was a bummer. It's still a nice day out though, I suppose I can bounce back. I have a bunch of work to do that I was blowing off anyway.
Doing some riding Saturday, checking out the Spikedrivers at the Gazebo Sunday at noon, hitting the studio later that evening. Where's your off-road ride Sunday?
Ride is near Wellston...flyer here: http://www.adrohio.org/ADR%20august%20%20Flyer%2009.pdf
I know of a certain Yamaha you could kidnap if you wanted to ride a dual sport. I could even throw it on the trailer for you. Only $35 and includes lunch...100 miles of good stuff.
They're doing an ADV ride as well, FYI if a certain lady was interested, only $30 for the 150 mile rollchart.
Oh man…that looks like fun. My Sunday is all booked up though. And I probably shouldn't try that on someone else's bike, lol. If I can round up a reasonably reliable dual-sport before the end of the season though, count me in. My 125 probably isn't going to take me 100 miles in the same day!
I did a similar ride last Sunday and there was a guy there who rode a 73 tc 125...he only ran out of gas like three times.

Anyone else in a good or even decent mood today?
I'm in a good mood! Granville Triathlon tomorrow! :)
Yay...whats your favorite part of the three activities?
Which is the most difficult? The last part?

Well, I really like the swimming part actually. I usually place in the top 25% of the swimmers. The most difficult part is finding a port-a-john that doesn't have a 30 minute line just prior to the race!!! haha. Yea, the running part is the most difficult for me. I used to be a better runner, but just can't find my groove anymore on running. I don't place though... I'm in the largest age and gender group (M, 35-39) and usually finish in the middle of the pack. Plus... there are a lot of Ex Olympians that seem to compete... and I just can't compete with that. :) They are fun though! Do you do triathlons?
Oh, I'm also happy because it looks like I have finally made up my mind on a condo to buy downtown. :) Just gonna sleep on it over the weekend.
No triathlons here, but I do admire the sport.
I'm more apt with Blammo's trio of skill there.
Awesome! You should start that triathlon up then! I'd enter!!!! I haven't been MC riding since I was a kid. That sounds like a lot of fun! I went out with this woman a couple of times that used to do it when she lived in CA. Sounded like a blast from the way she described it.
I am off caffeine. But I took it out on Snarf, so I feel much better and not the least guilty. Win-win.
Off to Vintage Ohio this weekend, visit a friend and a Clippers game party on Sun. Can't complain too much.
A.
Oh, the distances:
Sprint:
1/2 mile swim
Usually a 14 to 18 mile bike ride
5k run
Olympic:
1 mile swim
Usually about a 28 - 35 mile bike ride
10k run
Then of course you have the Ironman and half Ironman. Those people are hard core if you ask me. I mean, I already think too much about working out and improving my times. They must do nothing but focus on triathlon training half the day and watching their nutrition and what they eat.
I'm in a good mood although I might yarf up french fries. They were worth it though. I dunno what I'm doing tonight. Perhaps a lil pseudo outta town house party tomorrow night, Spikedrivers Sunday and just general weekend happy to not be at work whatnots. :)
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
ooo...forgot about the Goodale thing Sunday. Looks like my entire weekend will revolve around parks :D
Despite having to attend my wife's class reunion in Canton, which neither of us is eagerly awaiting, I'm in good shape today. I've finally got the first my big tomatoes ripe in the garden. Found some sweet wallpaper for the top half of the downstairs 1/2 bath. Meeting a friend for dinner, who I haven't seen in a long time.
Also, eating a ton of candy that I forgot I had. Yay!
wow, I can't imagine. I probably couldn't swim more than 100 yards before sinking. that's pretty intense though, and that Ironman stuff is insane. what is it, swim 3 miles, ride 100 miles, and cap it off with a full marathon?
As far as the other type of triathlon, I suggest/draft/press into service Merc's cabin as the destination after a spirited ride through the Hocking Hills, all of us visibly packing heat on our bikes. We hit the worst local farm market around, gather up some targets & then shoot up a couple hundred gourds & melons. Then drink ourselves silly. Whomever runs out of gas, ammunition, and booze first wins (and loses).
ETA: this is in reference to MEM's post, not Joev's, lol
Entertaining some out of town friends this weekend. Dirty Franks and Jeni's tonight. Fair and Clippers tomorrow. Going to be busy and fun.
Yea, that reminds me that I haven't done any target shooting since moving up here. Any good ranges around here to go to?
Yea, the Ironman they do a full marathon after swimming 2.2 miles and some ungodly number of cycling miles.
Actually, I wasn't very good at swimming either at first... after about 100 yards I'd have to stop and rest. Now I can just pop in the pool, belt out a mile and get out without breathing hard. What I thought would be the worst part of a triathlon is actually the easiest to me now. You just have to be trained properly to swim. That was my issue. It's all about technique when it comes to swimming distance.
Hey, if we get enough people we could start the CU triathlon club and the CU Mad Max club (based off of your idea!). ;-)
