Just what the title says.
New updates include, ringtones on iTunes for your iPhone, new colors for the iPod Shuffle, new version of the Nano and iPod, and of course iPod Touch (it's pretty much the iPhone but thinner).

Either you hate em or love em, you gotta admit, Apple has pretty innovative products.

I like the look of the purple Shuffle, but I can't really justify buying another one of those.
Now that I have all my CD collection ripped into iTunes, I have been planning to get an 80GB player to fit it all on (it's about 40GB altogether). I like that the price is coming down on that size. I just wish they'd make 'em in purty colors like the Shuffle and Nano...

I love the new touch iPod, but 16 GB is waaay to small for my music collection. I love that I can just sync my entire library onto my 80 GB model and not worry about picking and choosing what to put on and what to leave off. And the new 160 GB model... CRAZY! Now that's some space.
Obviously, I'm never going to listen to 80 GB of music in it's entirety between syncs, but it's all about the gluttony of choice!

Well, it looks like Steve Jobs issued a letter today giving all Iphone early adopters a $100 store credit to the Apple store.
I don't own an iphone. But if I did, I think this would almost piss me off more. All the people posting on Engadget and Digg are so happy about this....to me it just seems like a slap in the face.
Steve Jobs says that is technology. The price drops quickly, but a 33% price drop within 2 months is extreme. Like, really extreme. And then he just issues some store credit, which does nothing in the end but put a lot more money in his pocket....maybe I just don't understand the Apple fanboy mentality.
I know if I post this on Digg I'll get buried in about 3 seconds, so I'm ranting here. Not sure why I'm so annoyed since it doesn't affect me in the slightest.

Sure, I agree that the price dropping that fast is pretty extreme, but early adopters of Apple products should be used to that sort of thing.
And how does a $100 store credit put more money in Jobs' pockets? I guess some people would spend over that $100 when they might not normally buy what they're buying, but it's still him giving out free stuff.

The people that should be slapped are the ones that went out and sold their soul for an iPhone when it first came out :wink:
First gen products are never that great either... pricey and probably filled with bugs. Which is why I'm not gonna jump on board and buy an iPod Touch just yet.

Yes and no. Let's not forget the iPhone was released only 2 months ago (pretty quick for a 33% price cut). I had this happen to me when I bought my 3rd Gen iPod, the price was cut when they released the 4th Gen (iPod Photo), but there was well over 2 months between the 2.

In a former life I was a retail manager. Normally I'd tell you to give it a try, just make sure to yell a little and demand the district manager's cell phone number. The DM will almost always cave. This time, however, they will have been trained to tell you that its the $100 g.c. or nothing.

....and you bought it for +/- $1000. Service was $.50+ per minute plus normal long distance + Roaming just about everywhere outside city limits.
I thought I was pimpin' with a bag-phone but Core...you musta been a real baller!!! :lol:

So has anyone checked out the new Genius playlists in iTunes 8? I've created a few and they're awesome! Now when I think, "gosh if I only had more music that sounded like like _____"...well I do, and this puts it in a handy playlist for me!
