Indie Art Capital --> Can someone explain?

I have been following the move for Columbus to reinvent itself as the Indie Art Capital of the World. One site that I found while reviewing and reading was http://indieartcapital.com/. Recently, I found the website has listed a post by Antoine de Saint Exupery on the main page.... and nothing else...
Can someone familiar with the site and site owner (maybe a user of the underground?) explain if the recent changes are because of a new look/etc that is soon to be? I am not familiar and would like some insider information, if available.

I'm not sure what happened to the site. The last time I checked it before today, it had a forum, a wiki and a news page. Mike Reed and Daniel Fox (skreened) are the administrators of the site, you might try to contact them at

My best guess is that Mike decided that the site as it was was not serving the Indie Arts Capital vision. The new version, minimalist as it is, is perhaps designed to provoke people into making their own moves.

I would suggest reading the quote... then dream up what you would like it to be.
After dreaming... do it.

The sight was designed to motivate individuals to create a personal creative goals and a forum to share them in. However I honestly think that all of the functions of the site didn't get viewers tothat point. The minimal approach to what is the indieartcapitol.com website is now everything condensed into one simple phrase that you can live by if you want to be a part of the movement.
The IAC movement doesn't need a coach that is supposed to tell the players on the bench when to get into the game. It needs a team of players with helmets on chanting a fight song and ready for battle.

while I understand one site cannot speak for a movement, I felt there was probably a reason the domain was purchased... I guess having a quote that is at best relatively important to a select few people familiar with the poet / artist / writer / context is confusing.
I don't consider myself sheltered (maybe I should), but this quote speaks nothing to what I see happening. That is meant with no disrespect, more saying in my experience a website that offers meaning is on offering detail and is not refaced without notice or explanation.

guess that is a valid point? Although, it does not speak in any way to the people who are trying to understand where or what is involved in this movement; especially people not in certain social circles of Columbus. A movement or change involves communication and interaction, which is missing.
It seems ridiculous, maybe an excessive word?, to have gone through the effort to setup a site to link into the idea of IAC, which I applaud, then for it to be taken down without giving any background.
I would assume more people not familiar with the "new vision" likely are wondering why the site went down. I spoke with several friends in the community who are artists, and all of them were surprised it was gone, were not aware of it happening, and really didn't get the point either.
Maybe we all just missed the sign?

I'm not an artist, but would like to know what people are doing. This site could show me a wide variety of art that I would prob. not see. The quote is great for people participating, but for people wanting to know more it doesn't help much. The only reason I say anything is acting as a visitor to Columbus, if I looked up "Indie art capital" on google and that came up, I wouldn't understand it.

Registration ends Saturday. At this event... you can quickly get involved in a multitude of things.
I think the site was changed mainly because the original purchasers of the site found that by creating it... that it lead people to think that the IAC was a website.... and the original intention of the movement was to get people doing things.... now they have decided to focus their efforts to doing things other than running a site.
Please... become involved. We'd love to have you.

As someone who keeps his art to himself but believes sincerely in action I was at first sad the other day when I went to look something up at indieartcapital and found only the quote but then, after reading the quote, I immediately emailed it off to several other people. I've co-op'd that quote as a new mantra.
I have had a very minimal interaction with Chad and I know that he too has embraced that quote in his own way, through the website he is creating, even if he doesn't know it. BTW Chad, if you're familiar with the "children's" story The Little Prince then you are familiar with the author of that quote.
As for me, well, I may not have the skills to be a ship builder but I dream of the sea and will do what I can to share that dream with everyone I meet.
