By: Alexandra Kelley

The fourth annual Independents’ Day takes place on Saturday, September 17 from noon to midnight at Gay Street and Pearl Alley. This free all-ages celebration features an explosive array of local artists, bands, food vendors, crafters, dancers, street performers, and small businesses.
So... any reports so far? Seems like the weather is just about perfect for this today. :D

Thanks! Keep up the great work!

A+
that was a freaking great time!
Had a great time! I realized I need to pick the paint brush back up, I throughly enjoyed painting yesterday!
I ended up not making it over there myself, but Anne & I went to Fleur for the Quality/Soiree party and there seemed to be a lot of people out there after ID. Fun times. ;) Great to see so many people Downtown for events like this.
Props to all involved for making this happen again this year! :D
I had a lovely time. Took the COTA up around 4ish and walked around a bit before getting some food. Had the ramen from Deepwood which was excellent and just perfect in the slightly chilly weather in late afternoon. Then had the tartine(?) from Skillet (toast, gorgonzola, bacon, honey, arugula), also excellent. I was pleased to see beer other than PBR this year and enjoyed some Harpoon UFO. I listened to Old Hundred and Mt Carmel between my wanderings. There was some loud yelling music on the stage in Lynn Alley when I first got there, so I was glad to hear some bands that weren't. I like talking to the artists and found a few things I had to own for very reasonable prices. I also ran into the oddest conglomeration of people from my various different walks of life, a theme which continued through the evening when I went to Madlab to see my friend in Titus Andronicus. All in all a nice Independents Day.
7 hours of awsomeness. Now I just have to sift through the 412 pics I took.
The weather for the day was wonderful. Thanks to everyone who stopped by Rivet's booth throughout the day/night. It was nice to see and chat with a few CU peoples as well, Roland, Ben and Adam.
