I just wanted to get that out of the way.
I know I am usually just this angry guy that complains about everything, so it is sort of out of character. I know you are reading this Chris, but yeah, we play Christmas music in the store. It's not because of industry mandates, we just like it. Sometimes, in secret, I listen to Christmas music out of season. We put our Christmas tree up last night and stared at it for a while and then watched a Christmas movie. I might not turn the channel if a hallmark Christmas movie is on.
Had to get that off of my chest.

I have a friend who gave me a Christmas mix cd a few years ago. I will have to see if I can find it and give you a copy. It's pretty awesome.

Got to watch my 2 year old nephew as he watched the Grinch (NOT the live action movie), and was actually old enough this year to follow it. Was pretty amazing!

I love Christmas too! I like listening to Christmas music stations, there are some awesome oldies by Elvis and others. Plus Over The Rhine (Cincinnati musical duo extraordinaire) has the best melancholy Christmas albums ever. I like wrapping presents, watching the old Christmas specials we used to love as kids, sending cards. I had gotten pretty jaded about the holidays for a few years but then I got married on December 1 two years ago and since then this whole time of year brings a renewed enthusiasm and sense of romance and wonderment. :)

Haha, I don't hate Christmas music that much. In fact, I only hate the 30 or so songs that were on the Barnes & Noble Christmas mixes for the 2 years that I worked there. Hearing 2 mixes on repeat for 50 hours a week from Thanksgiving through New Years is enough to make even "that guy" that puts a wreath on the hood of his car and wears a Santa hat everywhere hate Christmas music for at least a bit.
I actually enjoy quite a bit of the "classic" Christmas music (i.e. Bing Crosby, Mel Torme, and the like). But I do hate the remakes of most of the songs that those people cut. The old ones are so ingrained in my mind that everything else just seems unnecessary, a cheap knock-off. Like hearing people try to cover a Beatles track. There's just no point. As far as listening to Christmas music out of season, I don't do too much of that. However, the Vince Guaraldi Trio album "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is one of my favorite albums period. So that one is on my iPod at all times and still gets listens occasionally throughout the year.

I have to say one of my favorites is still The Chipmunk Christmas Song, which I got to hear when I took Max to the sneak preview of the new movie. Plus I love decorating my house, right down to the little village next to the train that runs around our tree. (the animals and Max have a field day with it)
