Last night when I got home from work I heard quite the racket going on in the alley behing my apartment.
Out there is a bum playing in the trash, he's got a shopping cart and a couple bags of cans (bum currency) and he's in the process of trying to get a rather large couch (the one my neighbors couldn't get up the steps to their apartment) wrangled on top of the shopping cart to push away. I watched in awe.
Any reasonably minded person could clearly see that even if you were able to get that giant couch teetering on top of the shopping cart, that no way could it be pushed on those tiny wheels down the pot hole riddled alley. And where was he taking it?
So I continued to watch while attempt after failed attempt of this lone wrangler to get this couch on the shopping cart, although occasionally asking passerbys for assistance, he finally did give up and threw quite the hissy fit.
In retrospect, I should have gone out there with a few of these cans of miller lite from my fridge that I'll never drink, and given them to this poor confused bum for surely this an effort for some booze.
So...if you were walking down the alley and a bum wanted to help you lift a giant couch on top of a shopping cart, would you?
