It seems five of the defibrilators stolen recently from area hospitals have resurfaced at the reTAGit store in Grandview.
Just heard it on the news, looking for a link.

http://www2.nbc4i.com/cmh/news/local/article/police_recover_5_stolen_defibrillators/29192/ doesn't list reTAGit by name.
You would think that a resale store would check the serial numbers on expensive medical items before buying them. In the Dispatch story it says:
"reTagit's owner had received items from this man before and had checked whether the man had them legitimately. The man did, and so the owner accepted the medical devices in good faith."
I think they didn't check too hard.
That just seems a little too bizarre of an item to come in with to not look into. I mean who is coming to BUY a used defibrillator anyway?
If it was used, I think I'd want to know it was used *successfully* before I bought it.
I wonder if they have my landscaping lights and my snowboard...
I'd be shocked.
Funny stuff...gotta agree with Tigertree though, I mean, if I were just browsing, I hardly think I would look at a defibrillator and say to myself "what do you know...a defibrillator, I've been looking all over the place for a used defibrillator!" followed shortly by an inquiry to no one in particular: "I wonder why the previous owner is selling it?" or "is this from an 'estate sale?'" :-O
curious if retagit could be charged with RSP. unlike pawn shops im not sure how it works.
I wonder when they will be getting more in stock. Probably have to wait for the heat to die down.
