One thing that really annoys me is when I see on TV or read something about celebrities that gets into trouble with DUI’s, drugs, goes to jail or has something to do with drugs, it is very sad that news media will pay so much money to have an interview with that person about what they have been though. To me, this is just showing to the world that hey, even though you are breaking the law, we will pay you a million dollars about what you have been though. Hell, all the media has to do is go to jail and interview people there if they want a damn story. Celebrities know what they are doing and I can't stand that they ask for people to forgive them over and over and over again. Its gets old after a while. I know that the news media will get a lot of credit for interviewing a celebrity but this is so damn sad that this is what our society wants to see. Lindsey goes to jail (for what??? A week), rehab and is offered one million dollars for an interview. Hell, let me do all of that and offer me one million dollars to talk for 30 minutes!!! I just really have a problem with this because in our country, New Orleans is still not close to being a city again. They only show so much on TV with what is going on in that city and I have family in that area and I have seen the damage up close and it would be nice for our country to focus on getting our country back together and truly help those that need the attention in order to live a normal life. BUUUUUT…..our society likes the celebrity drama and doesn’t want to deal with the real life problems that our society is dealing with. So sad. I try my best not to pay attention to all of that crap. Thanks for letting me vent.

You might not pay attention to celebrity culture (it seems like you do), but the vast majority of the public does. As long as that continues to be the case, you can't blame the media for presenting what people want to see and read about. Just the way it goes.

i try not to pay attention to it. its hard to avoid it b/c most of the time when i turn on the tv, there is a clip about them with someone talking about it. i somewhat blame the media b/c they are not showing what really needs to be focus on in our society. it is what it is but its just so damn sad. the blame also goes on some of our society that gets caught up in the hype.
