I walked by there last night, and there is a FOR RENT sign in the window. I wasn't able to tell if the bar fixtures, furniture, etc. were still inside. I know the adjacent property had been part of the bar (the storefront there has a sign for AMY AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING, which I think has been out of business awhile), but it looks like Hudson Street Hooligans is gone for good. As a neighbor of theirs, I am curious about this.

Our group raised a good portion of the money needed to keep the club open during the end of the MLS season and allow the facility to continue to operate in the restricted manner that the city's code allowed. I personally took on a heavy amount of the debt to fulfill the left over portion of the costs associated with the city fees, Fire watch, architects, engineers, land surveys and the other miscellaneous costs. Alas it wasn't enough to make sense to continue to operate at that building with all the change of use renovations that would be required.
It sucks personally to have to say all that, and it sucks for soccer in Columbus and America to lose the first, and only, soccer supporters club bar run by a club. But I can't see this being the end of the world for this kind of idea, it is viable and it was awesome while it lasted. I'm looking forward to the next venture and have some valuable lessons under my belt.

Blake, your affection for the Crew, and your passion for HSH has been inspiring. I'm sad to hear of the club's demise, and that you had to bare many of the ancillary expenses.
Should an opportunity to rebuild arise in the near future, I wish all the best to you and your club.

Very sorry to hear this news. I assure you if it can be revived, the support will be back, and hopefully grow. I've followed the Crew since its 1996 inception, and I've been more amazed by the growth of the Nordecke supporter groups than any other aspect of the team's influence on our community. While I have to put 'earmuffs' on my kids at times due to the 'colorful' chants, I am proud our city can spawn such a vibrant, passionate fanbase. Long live the HSH!!!

All the best to you guys. I loved that the bar existed. Hopefully there will be a rebirth someday. I think there's definitely a market for a kick-ass independent soccer pub in this city.
