Thanks for the link. A friend told me about this a long time ago and I forgot completely about it. Good stuff! 8)

Yep, just started using it and came up with a pretty sweet channel so far for the hippie in me :)

I'm playing around and entering all sort of random stuff... pretty impressive. Pandora even recognized Gil Mantera's Party Dream and played one of their songs first.

I'm way late to this party (judging by the fact that this thread stopped 4 years ago), but I just read news that Pandora is starting a comedy channel - so now I want in.

Who out there uses Pandora and can explain it to me?

awesome bump!
i've been listening to the "mos def and ghostface killah" station a lot lately. i'm not sure if they ever collaborated or why they have this dueling station, but it's one of my all time favorites.

anyone else have problems using pandora today? iPhone/iPad are skipping constantly over wifi and the webpage has been loading for awhile now.

I've got the same issue with the browser-based player. I'm guessing they're having a problem with their cdn? who knows.

yeah, it just claimed that I have a 28kbps throughput from their servers. I can guarantee that the problem is not on my end.

I listen to a lot of Pandora, so I forked over the thirty some bucks for commercial free service. It's pretty good most days, though I had a similar problem today.
Some things I don't like about it are the lack of a band thumbs down option (the Doors have to go!) and when I thumbs down a specific song that same song turns up in a different version (live, cover, greatest hits version etc.). And since I listen for hours on end, eventually some songs get recycled. It's never a no repeat Thursday for Pandora.
Some stations I've had good success creating with certain bands have been Black Flag, Desmond Dekker, and Sleep. These have stayed true to the band's specific genre.

no shit. i constantly ask how many times do i have to "thumbs down" led zeppelin and alice in chains before pandora learns THAT'S not the part of the cult that i love . . .

I've used Pandora for over a year and am getting pretty tired of the "free" mobile version. I play music from my Android phone 99% of the time. I found that the skipping occurs when the player fails to load an ad quickly. Worse, if the ad fails to load at all, it skips the song entirely. New songs will also not start playing until the ad is loaded.
The PC version works great, though. No complaints there.
