$5 or thereabouts TOPS.
Honestly, I wouldn't pay a premium for a washer dryer.
However it does make a difference in determining whether or not I'll rent a particular place.

$5? Wow ... 10YR ROI on you! :)
Actually, though, if it is going to make a difference in determining whether you'd rent the place, and you do want it, then you will be paying for it but likely won't know how much more you're paying.
Anyone else?
If I'm remembering correctly, a Casto apt complex I lived in offered a washer and dryer as an option with the apt. The hook-ups were in all apts, and I had my own, so I didn't need it - but I think it was $25 a month additional for them to provide the appliances.
One of the apt complexes within stumbling distance of ShortNorth & Arena District bars offers them for $45 (iirc).
They must have gone up. I think mine was only $35 a month.
$5? WTF, lol.
you could probably put a set on your Sears card and pay $45 month to own 'em.
I think my complex charges $20/month for a furnished washer-dryer combo. However, I would not pay more than $10 a month; otherwise, it becomes very obvious that it's cheaper to buy your own, which we did.
If you're settled, buying is obviously the way to go. If you're nomadic, like so many of us are until we "grow up", the PITA factor having to haul around a washer and dryer every time we move (and making sure everywhere you go has hookups!) makes paying to rent more attractive.
Also, when my washer broke at 10:30pm on a Tuesday night, I had a new washer the next morning.
I spend way more than $35 a month on quarters to do laundry so when you look at it that way - not a bad way to go. I'd pay $50 a month now to be able to rent a set. Sigh :(
Thanks everyone.
