Tell me your favorite place for homemade pasta in Columbus. Please, not in the burbs -- I don't drive, and as cheap as possible. I don't need anything fancy, just something like old world, grandma style.

make me some! My kitchen is way too small and shitty to undertake such an endeavor.

As LaChewla's boyfriend, I must say her sauce is pretty good, and is in biking distance. In fact she has indoor bike parking.
I do not get to restaurants (beyond their bar at least) very often, so I do not know any that serve sauce. Other than TAT, I can't even think of any Italian restaurants in Cols. other than Basi but I have never been there.
I just realized that you are asking about pasta, not sauce. Hehe.
Well I don't know. I like the private selection pasta they sell at the Weinland Park Kroger's. Bad bike parking though.

Pastaria in North Market is great. That is where Duo Amici gets theirs. Basi is good, but I would recommend Del Mondo. I have a rolling machine.

Not quite "Grandma Style" but if you're looking for a place centrally located...

Don't know, about fresh Grandma-style stuff.
But the difference between fresh and dried can be, I think, exaggerated: there are some great dried pastas out there. Rustichella d'Abruzzo is the stuff available in the North Market, also at Tasi and the former Wild Oats. Del Mondo carries Rummo, which is excellent as well.
More details here, for the pasta-curious.... :)

I have a friend that is a pasta-farian. I can ask him about his thoughts on pastanomics.

I like Tony's. All of their fettuccine is homemade.

oh man... growing up on the east side, TAT was THE place for every special occasion dinner we had in my family. either that or the kahiki.
i eat at pastaria all the time, but was looking for something not in the north market/different... so thank you!!
tony's sounds really good, thanks for the responses dudes!

The Florentine on W Broad makes delicious, thick, homemade spaghetti. Order it with meatballs and then slip into a food-coma. (It's also excellent cold and without sauce for a snack.... the perks of having dated the son of the owner :)). It's super, um, family style. (You kind expect the west side mob to walk in) so don't go if you're looking for upscale/ fine dining...

I think Jimmy Corova is selling the TAT. Kahiki was the coolest place to eat as well.

I've made homemade lasagna with a coworker. We took whole, uncracked wheat - ground it into a find powder. Then made dough and pressed it through a noodle press gadget. We also made the ricotta and monzarella cheeses etc.
It was an all afternoon type project.
The end product was amazing.
Back home in NY I was surround by mom and pops Italian places. I miss it.

Definitely not looking for upscale dining ("cheap" was in the first sentence of my post I think)... I used to go by the Florentine all the time and wonder about it. Sounds good.

Librarian's right, Florentine's spaghetti and meatballs is great. My favorite thing there is eggplant Veronese.

I feel your pain. It's the only thing about New Jersey that I really really miss. the 80 page leather-bound menu... that's the same at every restaurant...
