It's time for the Oscar Dinner again. This year, the five-course meal (Feb 25, 6:30 at The Hills Market) has courses representing the nine nominees for Best Picture. I've (finally) finished the menu. Two films (Moneyball and Tree of Life) will be represented by wines. The other seven influence the following menu. Can you figure out the inspirations for each course?
Folks interested in attending (you don't actually have to have watched all the films) can R.S.V.P. by calling 614.846.3220 or e-mailing manager@thehillsmarket.com. This year, there will be an interpretive food sculpture contest and plenty of film-geek chit chat with our three film reviewers. More details here.
• Reuben Bite with Thousand Island Mousse, Shaved Smoked Corned Beef and Emmentaler "Dust" (one film)
• Oysters, Two Ways: On the Half Shell with Pink Peppercorn Mignonette and On a Butter Cracker with Spicy Ketchup (two films)
