We are also challenging the good folks over at Westgate, as well as the rest of the hill to some good old fashioned holiday lighting competition. May the best HWNA neighbor, and neighborhood win!

Some never took them down, looking so forward to this over the past year!! I also suspect some of those things we have just assumed were tarps waiting for new roofs are actually blow up displays just waiting to have life breathed into them as the air machines are switched on. I'm sure we're all in for a treat.

Neighborhood holiday-lighting contests often have rules, but for one Hilltop group, they go beyond the bulbs, bells and other yuletide baubles.From the official rules of the Highland West Neighbors Association:
"To qualify, your yard must be clean of all garbage, indoor furniture and junk vehicles."
In Highland West, a reason for the season might just include a winter-solstice cleanup.

:-) likewise having used to work 2nd shift and riding through the upper west side after midnight year round haven't had any issues.
Now Keith if you leave the hoe,ho,hoes alone after dark you won't have to worry about it. :)
Nice pics by the way, would be cool to put #'s on all the pics and have everyone vote for their top 3 then narrow down to the top 5 of everyone who voted to select a winner.
