Please mark your calendars for one month from today because The Columbus Music Co-op and The Surly Girl Saloon are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Here Comes Your Weekend Parking Lot Blowout!
When: Saturday, July 5, 2008 - 1 p.m.- midnight
Where: Surly Girl Saloon Parking Lot (next to Goody Boy)
What: Music, Beer, Food and Fun all day long in the Garden District!
Why: To raise money for the Columbus Musician's Assistance Program!
This event is FREE and ALL-AGES and will include music from:
Dead Sea
Great Plains
Fly Union
El Jesus de Magico
Brainbow
Church of the Red Museum
Lara Yazvac
Bush League All-Stars
Vegetative State
The Kyle Sowashes
Band lineups and links to all the artists coming soon.
This event is powered 100% by volunteers. If you'd like to help out, please send me a message or email columbusmusiccoop@gmail.com
We need help checking id's, grilling food, lugging gear around and event set up and tear down.
We hope you can come out and join us for a great day of music and fun to help support the Columbus music community!

I don't know if any of you like to volunteer at outdoor events, but we are currently staffing this festival. We have volunteers for set up/tear down at the beer truck, helping bands with their gear and grilling hot dogs.
Each volunteer gets a goodie bag with some free food and drink tickets and lots of other surprises from our wonderful sponsors.

The Here Comes Your Weekend/Parking Lot Blowout 3, held Saturday, July 5, 2008, is the ultimate event for those post-Comfest blues! Held in the Surly Girl Saloon parking lot, at 1126 N. High Street, this show is carrying on the tradition from the original event. This festival will include live outdoor music all day under the tents, a little nostalgia, plenty of Pabst Blue Ribbon, hot dogs and a day filled with good music, good friends - all for a good cause.
The Surly Girl Saloon and the Columbus Music Co-op have partnered again to bring this super-fun, FREE, all ages event to the masses. All proceeds from the tent will go to the Columbus Music Co-op, a local non-profit organization that is using the money raised at this event to further fund CMAP Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Columbus Musician's Assistance Program that the non-profit organization launched in April 2008. The fund will be an active pool of money that will be available to Columbus musicians without health insurance who need financial assistance with their healthcare needs.
Outside, the Surly Girl Saloon party tent will serve ice-cold Pabst Blue Ribbon and feature live music all day long with major acts including;The Kyle Sowashes, Bush League All-Stars, Vegetative State, Church of the Red Museum, Lara Yazvac, Brainbow, Great Plains, El Jesus de Magico, Fly Union, Times New Viking and Dead Sea.
"Columbus has an amazingly vibrant music community and Here Comes Your Weekend is a great opportunity to discover Columbus artists while supporting a great cause in the beautiful Garden District," said CMC Co-Director, Erin Moore.

Yep, I'm thinking promptly at 3, weather permitting. Who else is in? Dru, you guys planning on coming down? I wish we could bring our Comfest mugs and fill them up with the peeber. Now THAT's a week after pick me up :)
Also, I haven't had Surly Girl in a long time so I will definitely have to fit a proper meal in at some point during the day!!
