My office is starting to plan the annual Holiday party. We are looking for a place in/near the Brewery District that has a private or semi-private room. We will have a group of about 50 people and are aiming for the 2nd week of December. Does anyone have a good suggestion? Your help is appreciated.

At a previous job, we had the holiday party in the winery/reception space in the Brewery District. I think it was called Graystone Winery or something like that. It was a really nice place for a group that size.

I hear the bars in the BD are looking for action.
North Bank Park Shelter house looks nice. But an all glass building might be chilly in December.
Check if CBC has a party room.

You could check on the Graystone Wine Cellar location... we had an office "congratulations on your new job" party there a couple years ago. I heard that they changed format though, so not sure what the space is being used for. The food was ok, not great, but the space is really cool.
Depending on your price point and if you want to head into German Village, you might also want to check with Lindey's. I had a wedding shower for a friend of mine there-- it was a seriously great 3 course lunch for like $25 per person. The upstairs room came with the reservation. There was a choice of like three appetizers, 4 entree, and 3 desserts. Fountain type/ice tea beverages included.

We had a green drinks one time up above Surly Girl. It was a nice space. In the Arena District I would agree with cyclist that the North Bank Park shelter house is nice. My brother had his wedding reception in the North Market Dinner/Dispatch Kitchen. That was one the funnest nights of my life.

I think Greystone would be a great spot. It's a good sized space for 50 people.
The website is very 1998, but the architecture is 1870's... http://www.wmgraystonewinery.com/

It's a lot easier if you can be flexible with your start time.
G. Michael's and Barcelona will work with you on reserving the restaurant if you don't mind having your party in the afternoon so they can still have a dinner service at 5. I'd bet a lot of restaurants would do that for you - Clarmont, Jimmy V's, Claddagh...
I'll second Lindey's as a high-class party space and their catered menu is a steal. Schmidt's has a party room with some seriously funky decor. You can rent a big room at the GV meeting haus if you don't mind setting up catering and bar service independently. It may be a little chilly in December but Plank's has that party room that they'll make "private" for large groups.
The North Market option is good but they expect you to use their vendors for catering. This isn't a problem for some people but it can be tough if you want pasta from someone other than Pastaria, for example.
We've also had good luck with Due Amici and Burgundy Room, even though they're not so near the Brewery District.
