Hey guys, my beautiful fiancee and I are currently planning our wedding and, well... I'm clueless when it comes to these things.

We're trying to find a place in the greater Columbus area that we could have our ceremony and reception in the same place...

We've been to Darby House and it just didn't blow me away. It was nice and all, but wasn't really us.

Our budget is pretty flexible, but we're not going to go TOO high end.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

It's going to be in January... and be a non-religious ceremony (our family is kind of made up of Catholics, Baptists and Mormons. We all know how much they get along, right?)

Not to sound snarky, but whoever did their website could have rotated half the pictures in the slide show so they're not sideways. Yikes.

My friends looked at the ballroom at the YWCA. They said it was nicer than they expected and had an outdoor area as well. What about the Jefrey Mansion in Bexley? I haven't been there but I've seen pictures of a few weddings there.

I attended a wedding at the Graystone Wine Cellar, on Front St in the Brewery District. They had the ceremony in the lower space, dinner in the main space, then the lower space had been cleared for dancing and drinks after dinner. They do the catering, I believe there was a minimum charge for food and then the rental was free.

My fiancÃƒÂ©e and I are getting married this fall and are having both the ceremony and reception at the Audubon Center on Whittier. As long as the weather permits, we'll have an outdoor ceremony with the reception inside the conference room and decks on the front and back of the building.

While outdoors won't be as nice in January, you could have some really cool views across the snow covered park. The space is pretty flexible so there are a number of ways to configure it to accommodate an inside ceremony. So far they have been great to deal with and I think they can accommodate up to 200 people inside.
