kthxbye

I missed that thread, and I'm relatively new to town, and I'm equally relatively new to convoluted and asinine restrictions on the purchase and consumption of alcohol. Am I to understand that I have taken up residence in a state where there are also convoluted and asinine restrictions on talking about the purchase and consumption of alcohol?
Seriously?

me plus two (kitsune and her husband) are in.

OK
I did a quick count and it looks like 26-27 people are interested in going.
That is great but a little overwhelming for even a veteran restaurant.
I propose this.
Pencil in June 25th 7:30 PM
I will scout out the location and try to get an idea of how the place is set up, talk to the owner, and etc. to see if 25+people is feasible.
Lisa the Waitress - suggested Sunday the 22nd for brunch....Lisa is a great food tour guide. A couple people seemed interested in that date....including me. We could split our "pack" into two days and or times to be more managable.
I will post again once I have some "intel". Keep posting away in the meantime and see if we can build some interest in the 22nd as one of our two CU trips.

I'm in for either night.

I haven't heard of Hawa Russian yet, beautiful idea! Have been looking for Eastern European food around central Ohio and figured I'd have to road trip it to Cleveland to try the only ones I've heard of. Is it too late to add on to the crowd? Either the 25th or the brunch group works.

Meaning BYO == illegal in Ohio. Only allowed if there is NO license whatsoever. Grey area if the license is under "application," but an atty told me no. Banana Bean stopped when they applied, for example.
AFAIK, there hasn't been a citation on anyone in a while.
If some place allows BYO, the first rule of Fight Club applies...

wince....
Addressed, though echoes persist.
We're in for two on the 25th.

I dropped in to Hawa Russia today. It took me forever to find it because I kept searching the main part of Columbus Square and could not find it. The Restaurant is out on the 161 side by Whiskey Dicks.
2680 E Dublin Granville Road

I cased out the place - it has different dining areas but could sit a group of 20 or so. However, I think that many might overwhelm them a bit. I did not eat there but a couple I spke with there liked it. The place was not crowded.
The employee I spoke with reccomended that people come on a Saturday night because there do a banquet and have live music.
Anyway - I suggest we go with this game plan. June 25th 7:30.
For people that find the Sunday works better for them - post a June 22nd Meet up and pick a time - reviewing the threads there is enough interest to support two.

Is there an RSVP or signup or reservation or ??? procedure? Do we just make our own reservations?

I might be into this, too. Supposedly, I'm a little bit Russian, but the only thing my Russian grandma really made was cabbage rolls. An aunt made some sort of baklava-type dessert. But I have no idea if those are Russian or not :)
What's the sort of stuff to look forward to? I'll go wiki it, but was wondering if you guys had any particular favorite dishes.
