I found 614.899.7020 for their number, and I tried calling a half-dozen times during the past hour to confirm that BYOB is OK, but it was busy every time. Have to stop now, but (a) can anyone confirm the number independently and (b) does anyone else feel like dialing for a while.... thx

Just tried it. Busy. Weird.

If we do get the thumbs up on the BYOB, I will bring a bottle of newly legal grande wormwood Absinthe...finally available for the first time since 1915...if you mix it with club soda and sugarcubes, it tastes like Fresca and Oscar Wilde was right, your legs turn to tulips.
I wonder if that hideous Whiskey Dick's bus parked next door would take us all home afterwards?
; )

Excellent!! I've really been looking forward to trying that stuff.
Colleen and I will bring along a bottle of durian-flavored kool-aid.

I am in, too (although once we have a definite date i will need to check with my partner Seth to make sure he can handle the additional evening kid care before i commit). And the absinthe sounds absolutely divine...
I second (or third?) the idea of confirming with Hawa Russia to make sure they are ready for us, though. I know i, for one, would (will?) be a little intimidated if CU descended on my new restaurant. Not that i know that we all won't be a sympathetic crowd  .
I tried to call, too, and no answer. I'll try again tomorrow if no one else has already gotten through.
This sounds fun and i am really looking forward to it! Great idea, Gourmand!

It sounds as if someone may have to go over there in person. It might be a good time to find if there's a side / back room to keep us from scaring the other customers.
If it isn't BYOB, is there a place to sip the potent potables elsewhere?

Wednesdays are rarely good for me, but I'm in if I'm not traveling that week.

Hmm, good question. Nasha Rossiya is far from where we are, so we wouldn't be a very good place for an after-party. Then again, neither would any place one would have to drive back from. Dilemma....
Edit -- but first thing's first -- let's see if they answer their phone. Assuming that IS their phone. I got it from this website but haven't found any confirmation elsewhere (though I did come across this link to an unrelated TV comedy -- one or two borderline NSFW pics buried in site, be warned).

Awww. Thanks. I appreciate people putting up with me bringing him places-- I know I've gone over the edge into the crazy dog lady arena :D

Just tried calling again and got through on the first try.
They do not have a liquor license.
He asked if I would be coming tonight, and I told him that a group was putting together an outing for a week or two from now. He stressed that we should give him as much warning as possible, because they've already got lots of reservations.
We're in for two. Gourmand (or someone else more skilled than I am at putting together inter-tube rsvp-y things), it's all you.

They do not have a liquor license yet.
When I asked if we could bring our own, to my amusement, the answer was, "Yes, please."
.
As someone else said on another topic: the less said about BYO in public, the better.
kthxbye
A.
ps - I will try to make it. If not, I have a locavore edition of 'the water of life' that I will contribute.
