So I have hardwood flooring in my new home which covers the entire first floor, it is Bolivian Rosewood, and I was having a difficult time finding a method in which to clean it well.
Enter the Shark Steam Mop.
Man this puppy is badass. Imagine steam billowing over your floor as you quickly and easily finish large areas with broad back and forth strokes. The hand or machine washable cotton pad (comes with three) giving your hard surface floors delightful sheen while you become giddy with excitement.

for when you just want to dust the floors get one of these from the container store:

I have hand scraped dark hardwood that shows dust like crazy. That broom is awesome.
Now to clean the floor I have been using a swiffer wetjet.. Does the steamer do a better job?

Wow, those look fantastic. Plus I'm a fan of microfiber in general.
I haven't used the Swiffer Wetjet but I have used their dry and wet sweepers and I hate them on my floor. When I had a kitchen that had linoleum floor they worked well, but I'm not a fan of them on my new floors.

I personally hate the Swiffer WetJet though it is what I use on my hardwood floors. Unless you sweep up every particle of dirt or dust before WetJet'ing it just creates a new mess to clean up. I'm not a good sweeper so it's a problem.

+1 on the steam shark. It takes the dirt off in a serious way without leaving the floor wet or filling the air with chemicals that irritate my already iffy lungs.

It's so funny this has come up --- I got the Eureka EuroSteamer (?- whatever), delivered fresh to my door from the vast wonder of Amazonland on Friday.

I have old school textured vinyl (think olive green cobblestone circa 1965) that is about impossible to clean, and this has finally done it. I was using my fancy rubber broom (I love this thing) as a mop with lots of tears and agony and time and yelling at cats. Now I just use said rubber broom to sweep, then get out the steam mop and blam.

The Eureka one was on sale on Amazon - and I liked that I can use any old towel/shirt/pillowcase as the cleaning pad.

Seriously - the as-seen-on-tv broom is the best $11 I've ever spent (Bed, Bath and BEYOND! had it). Not only does it rock as a broom, but it's scrubby and it has a squeegie which I've used on my windows with great success.
