Anyone ever tried the breakfast spot Hangover Easy (www.hangovereasy.com) on Neil Ave near OSU? It's nearby my place and I've considered giving it a try some morning but I'm detracted because campus area businesses are so hit and miss...and usually miss...and the 1 review on Yelp is less than impressive. Anyone ever been there? Recommended? Or not?

Keep in mind that I'm a college student, so perhaps I don't have the same standards as others...
I LOVE this place. I try to go on a semi-regular basis for awesome breakfast food. I recommend the #2: eggs, a breakfast meat, toast, and their own type of breakfast potatoes.

I've had more than one seriously undercooked omelet there. Bleah.

I eat there occasionally. It's not fabulous, but it is walking distance and their bloody mary's are OK. it's not the banana bean, by any stretch of the imagination, but serviceable (although I can't imagine what it may be like on game days)

this place changes names every other year.

i "think" (but am unsure) that Nick's and Hang Over Easy might be the same ownership with a catchier name.

I once applied for a job there and didn't get it so I don't go there. :P

Yes, Dru is correct: Hangover Easy was known as Nick's Diner until a couple years ago. The owner (Nick, obviously) renamed it so that it could be possibly franchise-able. It's on Neil Ave. next to the Brennen's and the Jimmy John's, across from the OSU Medical Center.
It's not bad - basic diner food, good for students. Here's my review from last year:

I've been a few times. The breakfast is good, the lunch food is not quite as good I think, but it is still okay. The staff has always been really friendly to me, especially because I've always gone with a sizeable group during busy lunch times. They have this crazy breakfast challenge thing that if you can finish eating it within 30 minutes, it's free. It's something like 5 biscuits topped with country gravy, topped with a 3-lb. omelet, topped with more country gravy... Maybe a more appropriate prize than the free meal would be a free bypass surgery? ;)

I ride by this place on my way to school everyday and always assumed it was more bar than restaraunt, much less a breakfast place. I stopped in for lunch today after seeing this thread.
The french toast filled with berries and bananas was really really good,, exactly what I was craving. Coffee was diner coffee, pretty much what should be expected. Service was fast. My waitress was friendly, and I noticed all the others were as well.
I've been a bit depressed since I moved from the suburbs of another city due to a lack of a close-enough waffle house. It's not quite the same, but I have found my new breakfast place here. I will be back many times.

I eat there all the time I think the food is great. They changed the name one of the waitresses told me so they could expand and some of the cities they want to go to had restaurants with Nick's already in the name. You should really try it I read Nick's review and they have changed the menu since got rid of hashbrowns and have a sliced potato which you want to order crispy. They also have nice thick toast and the waitresses are really helpful and nice. It is a place for people with a sense of humor as you can tell by the names on the menu and the decor..
I think you should give it a try.
