man i've had my eye on that challenge... i would totally own it too IF they threw in a prize. think about it. you destroy their monster and what do you get? a free stomach ache. no shirt? how are you supposed to let random passers-by that you are a titan in the world of local competitive gluttony? with your adjusted check?

Core.....critical point here. You have to eat the fries. What is your game plan for that?

As for a prize ....well the prize is intrinsic - the thrill of victory, a sense of accomplishment, the respect of men men and love of women, etc. Zach H won two CU Meat Up Challenges and then - by report became a vegetarian. When you eat - and complete - something like that you are a changed person.

On the other hand.... Roland failed all the meat up challenges and now - he hardly goes to White Castle.

This is not a challenge to be taken lightly - but be advised - if you finish you will be a better person for it. Let's look at some August and September dates and get this going.

I'm looking forward to months of grandstanding and trash-talking about prospective eaters' cast iron stomachs. This should make for FUN reading. Meanwhile, I'll stay off to one side and watch the carnage / carnality.

I think I can do it!!! Late August sounds great to me, I'm doing a diet/exercise thing through mid-August and this would be a nice way to blow it off LOL!

Please provide tips and tricks on how to prepare. Do you binge a few days prior to stretch your stomach then skip one meal prior to the contest? Fast? Clear your system with Metamucil? Nothing?

Training:

This is an example of mind over matter. While size may matter sometimes, as for stomach and etc., this is just a sheer act of will.

Tips:

Watch the egg eating scene from Cool Hand Luke

Watch the famous CU video about the Dagwood

Practice your fry eating - it is all about the fries

Exercise a lot the week before game day and eat a very light breakfast that morning.

Wear loose clothing

Consult with Zach... I do not know how he does it somehow he goes from barely started with everyone ahead of him to finished in a minute.

Start small - a 1/2 Dagwood, a Double Beanie Burger, a regular Thurman Burger, 4 pieces of Adriaticos Pizza.

Looking for 2 females to show for this - Viv? OSULEW?

Perhaps our problem is that we keep doing challenges in which humans compete against humans.

This is thinking outside the box, people.

C'mon. We have Zach. We have Core. And we have the residents of the Columbus Zoo. We should be able to come up with an eating contest that would make Adam Richman at Man vs. Food question his manliness.

i resent this gender bias so very blatant in this eating contest discussion... let us question not the masculinity of our appetites but rather push the limits of human consumption.

ahhh, as an aside, i just showed B the double beanie burger pic and i think i've been henceforth forbidden to engage in any competitive eating contests.
