Hey, has anyone here had bad tennis elbow? Right now I have so many Futuro braces on my arm that I look like C3PO.
It's hard to believe that such a minor injury can be so painful and debilitating.
It took me a helluva long time to type this but I'm so bored at this point it was worth the time :(
Any suggestions? What worked for you?

Well. I've never had tennis elbow. But I have had injuries that were all about inflammation, which is what I think tennis elbow is about, and know it sucks like crazy. I ended up in pressure point massage therapy, taking about 700mg naproxen sodium twice a day (only for the strong livered), and buying an inversion table.
Out of those things, the inversion table was by far the biggest helper. Maybe if you can suspend your whole body, but for the afflicted limb, letting it dangle in space?
Really, and seriously - time. Again, it just completely sucks, but it took about 3 months of being careful, and cautious about movement, and trying to not do the things that put me in that place.

One exercise that has helped is to wrap a rubber band around my four fingers and thumb on the effected arm and push out against the resistance with those fingers. It is easy to fit that in even at work. I do about 3 sets of 50 reps.
Good luck, mine has been slowly healing for about a month.

I have it, bad. Just got back from my first physical therapy session. Apparently one of the problems is that I've lost some range of motion in my shoulder, and my elbow has needed to compensate. Because of this, I was given both elbow and shoulder stretches that should possibly help out. I'm doing two sessions a week for a month, so I'll let you know if and how I progress.
ETA: probably obvious from the above paragraph, but I do play tennis.

Yeah, lay off the hoeing for a while. Maybe the raking and the shoving too.
I had horrible tendinitis for years until I got my vitamin D issue fixed. Had no idea at the time it would help, but somehow there is a relationship. Who knew? Might just be me though.

I had a lot of problems basically from my shoulders on down on both sides from time to time... tried a lot of things over the years, but turned out two things really helped:
your mileage may vary! i still have slight pain but it is > 75% less than what it was, and I keep trying to look for other things i don't realize i'm doing. basically i was compressing my ulnar nerve. also, nerdy IT men like myself with multiple phones, and ladies who wear things with belts or piping in weird places, sometimes those things are enough to compress nerves. anyway... a lot of clothing doesn't seem to account for how you sit or what you carry or where your nerves are located.
