This makes my house look like it should be covered in bullet holes but I didn't hear any gunshots last year...

Once this recession passes maybe Columbus could invest in this:

I wonder how they do this map. It seems like a lot of the shots were reported the same day if you click on the dot. So maybe just by calls in general.
ETA: I heard way more then were reported in my area .
Apparently I do not live at a valid Columbus address. I think I shall declare independence then and start up LapseCatholicville.
not tooooo bad. Italian Village could be worse, i guess. i hear a lot more than what it shows also, buuut, they could always be firecrackers. same gun powder used, right? i've always been confused on that.
Yeah, sort of a weird map. The dots are people who reported hearing shots, and not necessarily where shots were fired.
For most of 2008, we had no A/C so our windows were open most all summer, and it wasn't too uncommon to hear a few gunshots per week through the open windows. They were typically late at night, and generally sounded pretty far off in the distance. With the windows closed now, I don't think I've heard anything in months.
Either way... the thought never crossed my mind to report them. It's not like I could tell what direction they were coming from or how far away they were.
No surprise that there's a higher concentration in Weinland Park. Not PC, but true.
There was a group of rowdy teenagers 1 street over the other day that got my bf and my tenants all worked up, because one of the punks was shooting off a gun into the air. They basically had to hold me down, I was so pissed off I was going to go over there and wring the little fucker's neck myself. Thankfully the cops made him lay face down in the snow for an hour or so, then off to jail.
