We just heard the second of two very loud booms a minute ago over here on Oak St near Parsons...
First one was a couple of hours ago, and sounded like a big rifle.
Last one was really loud and even closer, with a bunch of us neighbors runnin out the house to check it out...
Anyone hear anything, got any info?

How long have you lived in ote?

When I hear gunfire (which thankfully has seriously declined here in recent years) the LAST thing I do is run out of the house. I tend to stay inside out of the line of fire and dial 911.

Best thing to do is head to the basement.

How long have you lived in ote?Alright, ha ha, y'all...
I'm from Youngstown, and have had AK47 gunfire in my front yard, so I know the drill.
But seriously, this was an EXTREMELY loud BOOM. And as a matter of fact, I don't normally see any of my neighbors, but this was so loud a ton of people came out to investigate. Not a car crash, but an explosion of some sort. Either a very large caliber rifle maybe (.50cal?), or I don't know what... I guess a transformer could have blown, but I didn't see any power loss in the area.Bike security was all over the place, but no cops, and I haven't heard anything yet. BOMA had something going on last night, maybe it was over there. About 3am, their parking lot turned into an episode of Jersey Shore, which actually did bring several cruisers out. Which means nap time for me now...

I have been hearing gun shots from Havana/1st Ave and N High twice in the last 30 days. That place is rowdy.
