Okay, so you might either love this, or think it's total cheese. I personally don't care if you think the latter cos' I effing love the 80's and am not ashamed to say so.

This is most of my favorites jams, ALL MIXED. All of the songs come from my personal CD collection and were encoded to high bitrate 320kbps mp3's before mixing. No low-quality audio was used in creating this.

Should be fun for get-togethers, cook-outs, car rides to work, etc. Crank it up and sing along, you probably know just about every song.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it.

Lol. The Outfield falls into the "so cheesy, but it's freaking amazing" category. I stand by that song 110%

Great mix. Nenah Cherry is great stuff, and she's totally underrated. Also big props for playing ABC, Animotion and Midnight Star.

As a someone who came of age in the 80s, I find these lists (like on the 80s thread) and the reactions to them endlessly fascinating. Most of the songs on there ... well, I'd have ditched a girl who listened to them. Or stomped a guy. It is most intriguing what persists and what appeals to later sensibilities.

Not criticizing, just ... fascinated.

This makes me laugh my ass off, because I literally almost posted the same thing like an hour ago. Looking back, I guess I do enjoy a lot of the songs, but as a HS class of 87 guy, I can assure you, no one was advertising that these were what was on their walkman.

ETA: Duran Duran, The Romantics, Eddy Money, Outfield, and the Fixx probably had a moment each in the "cool" sun.

That's why these things are guilty pleasures. Most folks in my class knew I was a huge fan of Kate Bush as well as Siouxsee and the Banshees, but sometimes I just needed the shlock. My favorite guilty pleasure single of the era was "Don't Disturb this Groove" by The System.
