I can't figure out why that doesn't look at all appetizing. I like everything involved (except for mayo), and I'm not even turned away for health reasons. I guess it just looks like too much bread, and not worth the effort of trying to bite into it. As I think about it, a photo of the actual burger might look more edible than the puffed-up plastic promo shot.
On a related note, I recently learned about cheese-stuffed burgers. That is something I need to try.

Related to this subject, the Daily Beast just did a photo slide show called 40 Burgers That Can Kill You. As a vegetarian, I found it horrific...yet I couldn't look away.
And if anybody wanted to try to recreate this at a Columbus establishment, you might try talking Skillet into putting their Diner Burger between two of their truffled griddled cheese sandwiches. I'm sure that could kill you (or at least expand your waistline one pants size) in a matter of moments.

Latitude 41 does a their own version of a Juicy Lucy...I was eyeballing it yesterday.

More likely because you know in your subconscious it's a trick. Friendly, Dennys, Perkins, Frischs... if their food tasted anything like the pictures on their menus, they wouldn't have me preferring to lick the menu picture rather than order something from their respective kitchens.

According to this menu, Friendly's has a bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel. Now that sounds like a tasty heart attack!
