Have you ever read Oden's blog? It's kinda interesting to read, not from the, this is interesting because it's providing valuable insight that i haven't read anywhere else, but more from the, wow, Oden actually takes the time to write this himself and talks about some of the more mundane things he does.
As far as I can tell, not typical of the average high profile basketball player.

Mandy Henderson, on living in Portland: "I can walk to the Japanese Garden, the Chinese Garden, Northwest 23rd, all those streets the Simpsons characters are named after, a Fred Meyer that has everything, buses in the downtown square are free, there's free yellow bicycles everywhere, the city is clean, the people are nice... and best of all... no Walmarts all over the damned place!"

ok, that guy is seriously funny. and charming. I'm not into basketball, but that blog was just really great.

Good for him. He seems like a very level headed and down to earth person, with a good head on his shoulders. I only wish him the best and hope and pray that he stays as humble(in a good way) as he is now!

Agreed on his being a really genuinely nice guy. From everything I've read he was really devastated about the injury & surgery - though not for himself, but rather for letting down his team.
Another story mentioned that they had to tell him to stop working out/cut back on his workouts because his upper body was developing too much! He just seems like such an earnest, nice guy with an awesome work ethic. I know a lot of crazy OSU fans were really down on him for leaving after one year, but come on - how can you not like the guy and wish him well?

I think he'd be kind of hard to miss.
Reading about his blog on here I was reminded of a time that I read it last year. He was talking about how all of the students in his dorm decided to try to set a world record for the largest pillow fight (or something to that effect). First of all, I found the idea of him participating to be both amusing and refreshing. Secondly, I thought can you imagine being a college freshman and seeing this guy coming at you with a pillow . . . frightening!

lol i saw him sitting on a bench one time and his knees were by his ears lol. he is a pretty big guy thats for sure.
i remember that pillow fight too... but it rained the night before (or of... cant remember) and the south oval was a mud pit. i dont think that helped the numbers.
