This ran in yesterdays' "Life and Arts" section:
Inspired by American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, 30 central Ohio arts groups will compete in the 200 Columbus Invitational Arts Competition.
Organized by a small group of artists and activists led by musician Chris Sunami, the program will include a performing-arts competition, a visual-arts exhibit and a musical-recordings showcase. Winners will be announced at a later awards program.
“It’s definitely a gamble, but we hope there will be some synergy from bringing so many groups together, each with their own supporters,” said Sunami, who conceived the idea in spring 2011.
Michael Grossberg did a great job with the write-up. It was like taking a journalism class just being interviewed by him. I guess I can stop complaining about not getting media attention now! :)
