Cookie: Move on.
I believe that was refrenced in aprevious thread and the concept was to promote the fact that the beer sales help keep comfest going. So drink up if you will!

coreroc, oh, i am sorry that my initial comment on the artist known as Vinchen wasnt up to your standard. i will re-evaluate my opinion next time to fit more appropriately with the "expert" opinion.

i do wonder what the meaning of the straw in Goodale Park pond is though??
I was thinking that as well I get all of it except for that. Maybe it was just decorative or something like this straw represents the corporate government sucking our waters dry ! I will stick with decorative. lol
decorative works for me. maybe it was a GIANT SNORK.

Somehow the graffiti threads always end up like this!!
I feel it's because the "graffiti art" discussed here is most often times petty vandalism of empty substance and people don't like their personal property defaced.
Keep this art in the studio or on legal outlets and it's all good.
Seems pretty simple honestly.

for anyone who thinks Vinchen isnt HEAVILY influenced by Bansky, please check out both websites. i know for a fact that Banksy's has been the same for years, Vinchen i am not so sure.

I would agree that the influence is heavy. I just thought that "rip off" might not be accurate. Who knows though. Maybe they are out to just rip off Banksy. It's hard to say without knowing their motives.
As for the Goodale pond straw, I seem to recall reading that it was actually commissioned by Comfest, and I thought it was the lamest thing Vinchen has ever done. I'm glad it was gone after a week.
whether others view him as a rip off or not does not change my view that i think he is.
so, this rogue artist works with agencies and organizations to "commission" his art. bad boy.
Original article on the "straw"

What I think is lame about Vinchen is he is a criminal who vandalizes personal property yet seemingly thinks it's okay because there's some social message or cause attached. Vandalism is vandalism, pure and simple. He's a criminal, who seemingly doesn't do anything honest to promote his cause, he just defaces private property.
is personal property worth more than social integrety?
Storms destroy personal property all the time is Mother Nature/GOD a criminal/vandal also?
WOW,
Tagger/vandals = Mother Nature/God

Now you're being silly. The only person who can make that judgement is the property owner, not the graffitist. Acts of God are such - no one is at fault, these things happen. Vandalism is produced by a personal choice of one person to be disrespectful to another person.

Wow, dude...
You're seriously comparing God to Vinchen!?
Epic AND hilarious.
This is right on par with comparing the the downfall of the economy to words in the columbus dispatch, DougZ.
God is a vandal he burns picture's of the Virgin Mary into People’s skillets, tree trunks, and pancakes.
lol

no pun intended but I'm just playing devils advocate here. Everyone is quick to call graffiti flat out vandalism when in reality nobody has a damn clue if there was permission in any of these instances.
As for who makes the judgement! apparently anyone with a voice can discredit arts worth at the conclusion that something was done out of malice.
not comparing vin to god I h onestly don't like his work that much with the exception of at most about 3 pieces. Just t rying to degrade the value of "personal property" some.
Are we all equal to the sum of our assets or our acomplishments? I believe the latter personally.
That's why I didn't criticize these pieces.
And why would you want to degrade the value of personal property that isn't yours? Thats not a choice you should make for others - legally or morally. If it's your choice, then bully for you.
the nice thing is that I can view the world through my eyes and my mind. So bully to you for attempting to tell me what and how to think!
I think that vinchen actually has a piece that reminds me of this thread now!

then again this one applies also

Honestly the more this thread goes on the more I like this guy and see his point of view.
