I fully endorse the Wii. Buy it now, while the baby is still small. That way you'll have a couple of years to practice and get good at some of the games. It's really embarassing when a 4 year old can humiliate you in bowling.
Never happened to me of course. :wink:
(Although watching my 4 year old neice crush her 6'2 grandfather in boxing is really the funniest thing EVER.)

Joe lives in King-Lincoln with children? I wonder what he's going to/is doing for schools. You guys could have gone for OTE, but I guess it's gotten too main-stream for you. :D You've both certainly solidified your rank as urban pioneers. The Columbus Landmarks Foundation's newsletter (.pdf) shows that they have neighborhood walking tours for $10. I would have gone on the King-Lincoln one, but I missed it. What street would you say is the most photogenic in the neighborhood?

We're on Hamilton, which I think is pretty photogenic. Lots of big homes through there and the ones that have already been restored are amazing. The Hamilton Park Place condos at Hamilton and Long opposite the new Gateway Building and adjacent to the Lincoln Theater makes for a pretty attractive corner so far.
Also Monroe between Broad and Long is full of big places, most of which have been restored. Very pretty.
Really, there's gems on just about every street over there with plenty of fixer-uppers in between. There's a ton of potential in the area.
From what I've read about the neighborhood plan, Long Street and Mt. Vernon are being focused on as commercial corridors as they historically served as such. There's a load of potential down those streets. I think a streetcar would help speed up that development as well. ;)

Forgot to link this. It's the King Lincoln Bronzeville Neighborhood Association and they've been very vocal (and bitter) about being left out of plans like the streetcars.
Probably should check it out since you live there now.

KLB is a fantastic area. It's the last of the center ring of formerly ethnic neighborhoods to get noticed for urban redevelopment, I think your investment will pay off quite well.

I think there's still some places for sale, as well as vacated properties that the city is trying to reclaim from absentee landlords either for razing or restoring.
This PDF is a little out of date (July 07), but here's an example of a building that the city was trying to get developed (I'm not sure if it's still available or not):

The interior looks like a total mess, but still... 8,700 square feet isn't too bad for $20,000.

Anne & I went to view the model unit there about a month ago at a Sunday open house.
