It would be personal. I thought it would be a good skill to learn. What's the difference between personal and professional certification?

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer teaches students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants, use an AED on an adult or child victim of cardiac arrest and use personal protective equipment to stop bloodborne pathogens and other diseases from spreading.
First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community
One of our most popular courses, it is great for community needs. This course combines lectures, demonstrations and video with hands-on training and practice. Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally, participants will learn first aid for everything from cuts and scrapes to muscle, bone and joint injuries._______
It's been so long since I did the personal/lay version I can't really comment specifically on what's different. I think the presentation is a bit different, as is the cost. Mainly I was just wondering if you were eying a job that required it or simply wanted some new knowledge.
ETA
Just checked the local site as well and their descriptions make it more clear. Basically in the personal they teach you how to do breath and chest compressions along with AED. It's pretty easy and they simplified it a few years ago. Professional level gets more advanced with the addition of things like Bag-Valve Mask.

lifeontwowheels,
I just want new knowledge.
Since it looks like you have to use CPR in your professional field. What's it like to actually use CPR in emergency? Do you actually recommend lay person to perform CPR in emergency?
thanks

Thankfully I have never had to. I have had to use other parts of my training and knowledge does go a long way, as does practice.
I'd go for it. It's always good to learn something new.
