What's a good place for brunch to take your parents in the downtown or Short North area that isn't too busy? Suggestions please.

If you would consider venturing to the German Village area, I recommend Banana Bean Cafe. They have a great day-long brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The place is tiny, so I also recommend calling at least a few days ahead and making a reservation.

Banana Bean in GV is closed - you would have to visit their restaurant on Greenlawn Avenue, west of High Street.

I have always liked Vic's for a nice breakfast. Haven't eaten there under the new management, so I can't comment much. If the menu stayed roughly the same, it's the best corned beef and hash I have found (so far) in Columbus. They can be a bit busy on weekends, though.

If you're looking for not busy, Tip Top might be good. I don't think many people know about it (the brunch) yet. Seems like everywhere in the Short North is packed on Sunday for brunch.

My problem with them is that the last time I was in there, they double charged my credit card (closed another tab on my card), and after a dozen phone calls and 3 visits to the owner and his wife, I'm still out my money. Funny thing is they never denied they owed it to me, and made promise after promise to charge it back.
So if you go. Pay in cash.

So if you go. Pay in cash.Like I said, my only experience was under old ownership/management. I did find the service then to be interesting and kind of counted on a longer stay if I stopped by Sunday mornings before work. I think part of that was that they usually only had one person working the front end and the cash register most days.
I was always willing to put up with the slower service knowing my food was going to be good. It was also nice that the coffee was free refills. Always like a place like that.

Tip Top and Banana Bean are good choices. Mohawk offers the whole Brunch, breakfast and Lunch menu.
