Sounds amazing -- do you remember what kind of Barbaresco it was? I'm a big fan of Piedmontese wines myself.
I also envy those who live like that every day. I rarely if ever order a bottle from them, but when I do, it's a real treat -- Kevin and Guideon in particular are genuine wine geeks who are thrilled to bring you a really kick-ass bottle of wine.
Oh yes. They had to dig them out of the cellar for us (they were still a bit chilled). I'm having trouble remembering the Barbaresco -- it was 1998, though. The Burgundy was Clos De Lambrays (Domaine De Lambrays). Both were absolutely delicious.
Earlier in the day we enjoyed a Nickel to Nickel Chardonnay (Russian River) and a Far Niente Chardonnay with lunch. I had a good [week and a half early] birthday :D

They have tons of stuff on draft and in bottles. They have Chimay on draft, which is pretty cool. Although dangerous.
It is right next to/in front of Graceland shopping center, just south of Target. Also, it's right next to Pita Hut, and they let you eat your Pita Hut in the bar.
The staff is really nice and you can do a world tour of beers.

Maybe, I am a weirdo, but I dine out by myself at least 3 times a week. I like good food, but i do not want to have to pay for dinner with another person, so I stick by myself, plus its not like I am George Clooney and have girls flocking all over me. yo can eat out by yourself almost anywhere, and they will accommodate you. Some places do ask that you sit at the bar, if you are eating alone, even though I do not like this because bar stools are just not comfortable.

Shrug.
I often dine alone during the week as I'm frequently out of town on business, and really have no problem with it (I like my "me" time), but I think most people tend to want company most of the time.
As for dining at the bar, I generally prefer it, as I can quickly be seated and start enjoying my dinner. If I don't like the barstools I stand.
When I'm in town, I generally prefer making something light at home as I get tired of eating out while traveling.

Went with the family to Alana's last night. Dad's risotto and my tournedos were excellent; the bison dolmas were amazing. And Kevin found us a rare bottle of Arneis, a Bruno Giacosa wine, that was just terrific with everything.
Love that place.

Ah, for such friends....
Do not do not do NOT pass up the bison dolma if the opportunity presents itself. I doubt it will -- they were in limited supply when we were there, and that was last week. But they were really unique.
Edit -- whups -- or does your disdain for bacon and hot dogs extend to the noble buffalo? I forget where you draw your flesh line.
