I am looking to have some good food tonight before my last final/take off from Columbus for the summer.
My dining buddy has already taken off for the summer, and I don't have any one else to go out with.
Can anyone recommend a place to get excellent food that is not entirely akward for one person? Wouldn't mind sitting at the bar (probably preferred). $30-50 including may be a drink or two would be good.

sitting at the bar at Betty's is always good. not sure if you wanted something a little fancier than that though.

I agree with all of those as well :) Especially G.Michaels. They have some great seafood dishes.

I've had some really good 'alone' meals at surly girl and mohawk. the one 'alone' meal I had a basi kinda was not great.

There have been a lot of great suggestions thus far! (And some eh ... but then again I'm a local restaurant brat). I feel pretty confident in saying that Alana's is probably the best choice for this dinner. (But I am biased since I had the most amazing meal and wine there last night).
If you do not feel comfortable taking my word for it, Restaurant Widow and CMH Gourmand have both written excellent reviews about Alanas.

I LOVE Alana's with a burning passion, but can only afford to go there once a year at this point. Maybe I'd spend less if I went by myself and didn't drink so much wine.

-- and eat at the bar, in all three cases. All three have great folks behind the bar with whom to spend a pleasant hour or so chatting while you're having a glass of wine and some dinner, and the menus are top-notch.
