Perched in a tree out front of J Gumbo's is an enormous Greenwing Macaw. Apparently its been there since last night.
I called the Ohio Wildlife Center and they've tried getting it down with no avail - the Capital Area Humane Society is also aware that its up there - but don't seem to be working on getting it down.

OWC says chances are good its only going to come down for its owner. So uh if you happen to be missing your giant bird that screeches like a fire truck get over to Gay st!

There's actually a posting from June 21st on Craigslist that folks are missing a greenwinged Macaw named Peaky. Does he answer to Peaky? I tried calling the number on the post, but couldn't leave a message...

Our Military Macaw went missing on June 21st. He is all green but the front of his chest bare, his name is Peaky.
We live in the Ridgewood Estates area off of Dublin Rd.

Aaaah - this shows what I know about the world of Giant Kept Birds. They are lovely creatures, but their eyes see into my darkened soul and judge.
Anyway. I emailed the second folks thru Craigslist, pointing to this post... seems logical that it could be their bird. Hopefully, it'll all work out like unicorns and rainbows!

This was a Greenwing.
And he flew out of the tree some time around noon today. I don't know where it went.
There was this "Lost Parrot" announcement on the Schumacher Place website:

The owner's name is Pete Williams and his phone #'s are 588-2864 and 463-1013.
(This is the owner of the bird missing from the Schumacher area)
I've spoken to him a couple times today. I guess it was just spotted again near Tip Top.
I told him to give them a call or come down to check it out. Hopefully he did.
