Gets eaten, and animals get shot. You can have your right to bear arms, but no one needs 133 guns, and when someone has that many they are probably also the same kind of jackass who has cheetahs and lions.

I hope he was delicious.

ZANESVILLE -- Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office deputies are continuing to shoot animals running free from a private property on Kopchak Road.

Sheriff Matt Lutz said the owner of the property, Terry Thompson, was found dead outside and the animals were free when they arrived. They began receiving reports of animals around the area about 5:30 p.m.

Lutz described the animals as “mature, very large and aggressive.”

Be interesting to see how it plays out. What I do know is this assclown had 75'ish animals he really shouldn't have had, and cops have now shot about 1/3 of them.

I also know that he's been raided for having machine guns, and generally I don't connect "animal lover" with "ATF target"...so who knows what these animals were there for.

Yeah, I'm a bit hesitant about anything the ATF does given their history, but unregistered full auto is a definite no-no since 1934.

Would seem to me that releasing the animals would obfuscate any foul play, at least long enough for the perp to get pretty far.

These wild/exotic animals are a huge problem in Ohio.

I don't understand why, if they have the Columbus Zoo and The Wilds staff on location with tranquilizer guns, they are shooting everything on site? The sheriff said one deputy reported killing two dozen animals already.

Ohio has zero exotic animal laws and it's a big problem... in a big part thanks to Kasich letting Strickland's executive order expire. It's almost like he does that shit out of spite, rather than common sense.

Last job I was at, a guy brought bear cubs, lion cubs, and juvenile tigers along to the shop in his pickup passenger seat, and the bed of the truck full of frozen chickens and beef.
Its enormously expensive to maintain these animals, and you have to wonder who suffers when the economy tanks and it gets tough for the "caretakers" to put food on their own tables.

He collected illegal machine guns and weapons with the serials filed off, and it was apparently the ATFs business. He also collected rare and exotic animals which are now being hunted by a bunch of deputies riding around in a pickup truck with assault rifles.

My hostility for this guy is pretty well deserved.

It seems like every time a nutzo story like this makes national news, it happened in Ohio or Florida. (Nutzo stuff happens in Texas and Arizona, too, but most people expect that, so it doesn't make national news.)
