Get Motivated survives by fleecing fools, and the money Favre, Gardenhire, and the Strib are taking from the seminar comes out of the pockets of suckers.
-Minneapolis CityPagesI would have thought that Jim Tressel would have better things to do with his time, since unlike Montana and Giuliani and Powell, he's currently employed. But it turns out that's part of the organizers' M.O.:
Favre, whose speaking fees start at $50,000, couldn't be reached for comment on his involvement with Get Motivated. Neither could Gardenhire, but Twins spokesman Dustin Morse says the coach's participation is no big deal.
"Gardy doesn't have anything to say about this," Morse says. "They approached him to do a Q&A. He does speaking engagements all the time. This one's no different. I don't think he knows that much about them, honestly."

Gen. Colin Powell made a side trip today to the Boys and Girls Club in East Fton. It was a small gathering strickly for the benefit of a few dozen middle school students. While a few neighborhood types like me got to hang out too, it was all about the kids. As far as I could tell there was no media there at all! The General, Mayor Coleman and Gene Smith (1st African American OSU Athletic Director) each just spoke with the kids.
While all this other motivational-bookselling-heehaw-crap is going on, these guys pull this off so quietly. Good for them.Posted 1 year ago # -
