Starting this month, help Worthington Libraries continue a popular community service program.
Now in its sixth year, Warm Up! Worthington mobilizes the community - you and your friends - to knit or crochet 7" x 9" blocks, which are sewn together to form afghans that are donated to area charities. To date, nearly 200 have been donated!
Join the Library this month, and also in December, for Warm Up! Worthington activities. During block bees, scheduled this Saturday(October 8) and October 29 at Old Worthington Library and Northwest Library, respectively, you'll have fun talking, snacking, knitting and crocheting the 7" x 9" blocks that will be sewn together during a December 10 finishing bee.
Bring your needles, and we'll provide yarn, templates and snacks. Experienced knitters will help those new to the activity. All three bees are scheduled from 10 am-2 pm.
Get involved by participating in a bee or, if you would like to help but cannot attend, you can still donate acrylic yarn, completed blocks or afghans at any library location.
Additionally, if you would like to help by joining the blocks into afghans, you may do so anytime between October 8 and December 10. Call 614-807-2626 to sign up.
