Geekfest is a festival of epic proportions, entailing electronic music and DJ's, cosplay parties, screenings of several films and classic geek cartoons. It also includes the ultimate gaming experience, THE OMEGATHON! Eight levels of gameplay ranging from classic table top games to Old School NES games.

FRIDAY, 9/30 - 7PM
Kickoff Event - Movie Night and Cosplay
Show up in your geekiest gear for our kickoff event. We'll be watching MST3K and live printing graphic tees! Come for the costumes, stay for the snacks! Pay what you want!

SATURDAY, 10/1 - 8PM
Electronica Music Party
DJ Jetpack Bandits, Teen Fiction, and more! $10 at the door

SUNDAY, 10/2 - 2:00 - 5:00PM
OMEGATHON!
5-round, 32-player double elimination gaming tournament. We'll be playing, Connect-4, Munchkin, Duck Hunt, Heroscape and Mario Kart, so there is sure to be something for everyone! If you are interested in being a competitor, please sign up early AND email karl@wildgoosecreative.com. If you are more of the spectator type, attendance is free!

My apologies for having an elitist moment, but you can't have something called Geekfest w/o a Bring Your Own Computer lan party. You might as well make Jell-o and leave out the gelatin. You might as well make mead and leave out the honey. You...

That's like having the hip and the hop but not worrying about having a beat that does not stop.

Sounds pretty neat though otherwise!

LAN Parties are the modern form of the gaming arcade. Your own high powered personal gaming terminal, configured in a way that feels like a second skin? I love a controller, but it has nothing on the mouse.

And why in person? Comraderie, performance, ease of planning, the ability to step out and away from the game to have a shot, a smoke, a drink, to harness the power of sneakernet, to play old games that only work on IPX (which can be faked w/ hamachi, but not 100%).

I was born on the wrong side of a decade to get the golden age of arcades, so... we make our own.
