Garden Centers vs Nurseries

So, my mom is in town. She's a gardening fiend, and wants to visit a real nursery while she's here. We've been to Demonye's, but she's deemed it a "garden center" instead of a nursery. (A nursery being a place where they grow their own plants.)
A local.yahoo.com search brings up several spot claiming to be nurseries-- anyone have any suggestions?

Picky, picky Mom! I like Oakland on Oakland Park --very chi chi and Boulevard Gardens for a more old school feel and better prices. I will not swear that either grows on site though. sorry!

I like Oakland Nursery. The staff knows their plants. They grow a lot of their own nursey stock in Delaware County under the name Acorn Farms. I don't know if there's a retail store their - I'll bet it's all wholesale.

Where is Boulevard Gardens?
I like Oakland a lot... got all my summer plants there this year... and everything is growing beautifully.
There is a cool place south on Parsons... like way way south on Parsons... can't remember the name though...

Merc has got it.
Out of your immediate orbit is the whole Lake area centered around Mentor. Big greenhouses and nurseries up there which supply the rest of Ohio.

Thanks everybody!! I'm now in California, and have left my mother to her own devices in my garden while I'm gone... I'm sure there will be some surprises when I get back :)

Fishers GreenHouse. Its not a bad place, not quite the selection of Oakland, but very friendly staff and decent prices.
I either shop at Oakland, or Dills on 33 South of town, both places have great selections, knowledgable staff and decent prices
