I am organizing a tour of artist's studios during either the next Gallery Hop (March), or April (depending on interest). This is an effort to refocus on the people that really made the Short North what it is in the first place: the artists! Any Victorian Village, Italian Village, or Harrison West residing artist who is interested in making their home/studio open to the public please contact me, and we'll make this work. For those artists that would like their work up but do not live in the SN, I offer (part of) my walls up to you!

I love this idea. Let me know when you have some details hammered out and I'll help promote it any way that I can. :D

The idea is pretty simple, I just have to get artists to sign up ahead of time so that there can be a list of their locations or a map posted for visitors. Then maybe discuss a start time and end time that seem acceptable to all involved. I don't necessarily think that it needs to be only open to people that deem themselves to be "professional" artists either.
Two examples:
My downstairs neighbor has a degree in art, but from what she's told me hasn't really tried to show lately. I'd encourage her to join in.
The house next door to us is chockablock full of CCAD students, and I'd love to see them participate as well (even though most have them have been pretty rude to me in the past).
I kind of see it as an more relaxed alternative to the hustle and bustle of Gallery Hop proper.
[Speaking of alternatives, has anybody ever stopped by Hubbard Elementary during Gallery Hop? I I can't even really explain what they're doing, it sort of reminds me of a science fair with art for sale!]
