I was shopping yesterday at the Brewer's Yard Kroger, and they are building a Liquor Store in the back near the Meat Section. Its supposed to be open by the end of the month.
I know this may come as a relief to those of us that live in the GV area and don't enjoy shopping at the Parson's Ave liquor store.

Very cool...although I never really have had an issue with the Parsons Ave store.

I don't like it because they have everything locked up behind the counter, so you can't really browse. You have to get the staff to fetch everything you want, can't see the prices, and there is always an exasperated line of people behind you waiting for you to finish with the staff so they can get their pack of Marlboros and lottery ticket.

Yeah, I can see that. My needs are never that in depth, which is why it probably never bothered me.

That makes my day! I never really liked going to the Parson's Rd location, and usually drove to the one in Grandview.

Seriously, it is pretty nice to be able to pick up liquor at the grocery store. it might not be the best move for say, the Weinland Park/"The Short!" Kroger though.

That is great news! The last time I went to the Parson's liquor store I was in line behind a woman buying a "gallon o' gin and some o' that there brandy" who then got in a fight with the clerk because she didn't have her ID. I seriously thought she was going to start smashing stuff she got so angry.
I didn't know about the Honeybee, will have to try that next time I need some booze.

Gosh, I hope the bums and other undesireables don't start congregating around the Krogers now, begging for quarters so they can go in and get their liquor. This certainly takes away from the innocence of the village...
